Job Description

Location: Dallas, TX

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Nursing to lead Cardiovascular Services at a respected healthcare organization in Dallas, Texas. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, clinical excellence, and strategic growth of the cardiovascular service line, including cardiac catheterization, interventional, surgical, and recovery units. The ideal candidate is an experienced nurse leader with a proven ability to balance clinical quality, team performance, and operational outcomes in a high-acuity cardiovascular environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for all nursing and clinical operations within cardiovascular services.
  • Oversee staffing, budgeting, and resource management to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery.
  • Collaborate with physicians, surgical teams, and administrative leadership to drive excellence in patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Implement and monitor performance improvement initiatives focused on clinical quality, safety, and patient experience.
  • Ensure all practices comply with regulatory and accreditation standards, including The Joint Commission and state licensing agencies.
  • Lead recruitment, development, and retention of nursing staff, fostering a culture of professional growth, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Evaluate departmental metrics and financial performance, identifying opportunities for process optimization and service expansion.
  • Oversee and support implementation of evidence-based practices across cardiovascular programs.
  • Represent cardiovascular services in executive and interdisciplinary committees, serving as a voice for nursing excellence and operational integrity.
  • Maintain a hands-on leadership presence and mentor clinical managers and charge nurses within the department.

Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas (or compact state eligibility).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive nursing leadership experience, with at least 3 years in cardiovascular services or a related specialty.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cardiovascular nursing, procedural workflows, and patient safety standards.
  • Strong leadership, financial acumen, and organizational management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration abilities with both clinical and administrative teams.
  • Experience with performance improvement initiatives, accreditation preparation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Professional certification in Nursing Leadership or Cardiovascular Nursing (e.g., CNML, CCRN, or NEA-BC) preferred.

Schedule & Work Environment:

  • Full-time, onsite leadership position based in Dallas, Texas.
  • Standard business hours with flexibility for departmental needs and executive meetings.
  • Hospital-based environment focused on cardiovascular excellence and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $135,000 – $166,000 a year ($65.00 – $80.00 per hour), based on experience.
