Location: Dover, DE (Greater Central Delaware Area)
We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist to support patient care within a hospital-based emergency and critical care environment. This role is responsible for providing clinical pharmacy expertise, collaborating with care teams, and ensuring safe, effective medication use in high-acuity settings.
This position is ideal for a clinically trained pharmacist who thrives in fast-paced environments and is confident supporting critical care decisions while working alongside multidisciplinary teams.
We are hiring for a Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist with a hospital-based health system located in the US. This position is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical pharmacy support within emergency and critical care settings
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication therapy
- Participate in clinical rounds and contribute to patient care planning
- Review and verify medication orders for accuracy, safety, and appropriateness
- Prepare and dispense medications in accordance with hospital protocols
- Monitor patient response to therapy and recommend adjustments as needed
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards
- Support medication safety initiatives and best practices in emergency care
- Maintain accurate documentation within clinical systems
- Stay current with advancements in emergency and critical care pharmacy practices
- Assist in developing and supporting clinical protocols and workflows
- Contribute to interdisciplinary communication to improve patient outcomes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required
- Active or eligible Pharmacist license in the state of Delaware required
- Minimum of 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience required
- Clinical training in emergency medicine or critical care required
- Board certification (BPS) preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
- Strong knowledge of emergency and critical care pharmacotherapy
- Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and decision-making skills
Schedule
- Full-time, onsite position
- Variable shifts including days, nights, and weekends
- Hospital-based emergency/critical care environment
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is approximately $140,000 – $180,000 annually ($67.00 – $86.00 per hour), based on experience and qualifications. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.
