Location: Charlotte, NC (Greater Metro Area)
We are seeking a Clinical Applications Analyst, EHR to optimize clinical systems and workflows within a regional healthcare environment. This position is a full-time, direct hire opportunity based in the greater Charlotte, NC metro area.
This role is best aligned for someone with both clinical and technical fluency who enjoys turning workflow problems into system solutions. You will build and maintain order sets, decision support tools, and documentation templates, sit between clinical departments and IT through implementations and upgrades, and train the end users who depend on what you build. The ideal candidate can hear a nurse describe a broken workflow and translate it into a technical requirement the build team can execute.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze clinical workflows and recommend EHR configuration improvements supporting efficiency and documentation accuracy
- Design, build, and maintain clinical decision support tools, order sets, alerts, and documentation templates
- Serve as liaison between clinical departments and IT teams during implementations, upgrades, and optimization efforts
- Conduct end-user training and develop educational materials on clinical system functionality
- Troubleshoot EHR and workflow issues reported by clinical staff and coordinate resolution with technical teams
- Review system utilization data to identify workflow gaps and process improvement opportunities
- Support regulatory reporting initiatives including MIPS, promoting interoperability, and clinical quality measures
- Participate in governance committees to prioritize enhancement requests and workflow improvements
- Manage change requests through testing, validation, and implementation
- Collaborate with clinicians, operational leaders, and IT teams to improve adoption and usability of clinical systems
- Support documentation standardization and workflow consistency across departments
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies, data governance standards, and healthcare regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Nursing, Health Information Management, or a related field required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical informatics, EHR implementation, healthcare IT, or a comparable analyst role required
- Experience with Epic, Cerner, or another enterprise EHR platform in an analyst, build, or support capacity required
- Epic or Cerner certification preferred, or willingness to obtain
- Clinical background or direct healthcare workflow experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards including HL7 and FHIR preferred
- Ability to translate clinical needs into technical requirements and workflow solutions
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and end-user communication skills
Schedule:
- Full-time, on-site position
- Monday through Friday, standard business hours
- Standard full-time schedule of 40 hours per week
Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is approximately $85,000 – $105,000 annually ($40.87 – $50.48 per hour), based on experience and qualifications.
