Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite)
We are seeking a Home Infusion Pharmacy Technician to support daily pharmacy operations within a home infusion environment. This role is responsible for coordinating patient referrals, processing infusion orders, supporting insurance authorization workflows, and assisting with ongoing therapy management for patients receiving infusion treatments at home.
This position is ideal for a pharmacy technician with home infusion, specialty pharmacy, or hospital pharmacy experience who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare setting and understands the importance of accuracy, communication, and continuity of care.
Responsibilities:
- Process new patient referrals for home infusion therapies including IV antibiotics, hydration, TPN, biologics, and specialty medications
- Verify insurance benefits and coverage for infusion therapies, durable medical equipment (DME), and specialty pharmacy services
- Obtain prior authorizations from commercial and government payers for medications and infusion-related supplies
- Enter and verify physician orders within the pharmacy management system for pharmacist review
- Coordinate medication delivery scheduling with nursing and logistics teams
- Communicate with patients, caregivers, providers, and referral sources regarding therapy updates and order status
- Process refill requests and maintain authorization renewals to support uninterrupted therapy
- Verify patient demographics, clinical documentation, and insurance eligibility within pharmacy systems
- Support billing and reimbursement workflows by ensuring accurate coding and documentation
- Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations, payer requirements, and organizational standards
- Assist with resolving claim issues, missing documentation, and therapy coordination concerns
- Support overall workflow efficiency within the pharmacy operation
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Active pharmacy technician registration or licensure in the state of Texas required
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in home infusion pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, or hospital pharmacy required
- Knowledge of infusion therapies including IV antibiotics, TPN, hydration therapy, pain management, and biologics preferred
- Familiarity with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and specialty pharmacy benefits
- Experience using pharmacy management systems such as Brightree, HBS, or similar infusion platforms preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
Schedule:
- Full-time position
- Standard business hours
- Standard full-time hours per pay period
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is approximately $40,000 – $55,000 annually ($19.23 – $26.44 per hour), based on experience and qualifications.
