Location: Remote (US-based)
We are seeking a Clinical Informatics Analyst to analyze clinical workflows and design clinical decision support tools across inpatient, ambulatory, and specialty care for a prominent academic medical center. This position is a full-time, direct hire opportunity available on a fully remote basis within the US.
This opportunity is ideal for a clinically grounded informatics professional who works independently from a remote home-based office at the intersection of technology, data, and patient care. You will work alongside physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and IT architects on high-visibility projects including Epic module upgrades, CDS build cycles, and enterprise reporting initiatives. Responsibilities:
- Analyze clinical workflows across inpatient, ambulatory, and specialty care to identify optimization opportunities.
- Design Epic/Cerner decision support tools including BPAs, order sets, alerts, and SmartText templates.
- Lead requirements-gathering with clinical stakeholders, translating needs into configuration specifications.
- Serve as Epic subject matter expert on assigned modules, participate in governance and build teams.
- Develop and maintain clinical dashboards using SlicerDicer, Reporting Workbench, Caboodle/Clarity, or SQL.
- Monitor clinical system data integrity and coordinate resolution of documentation and coding discrepancies.
- Support Epic upgrade cycles including sandbox testing, defect documentation, and user acceptance testing.
- Configure registry workflows and dashboards aligned to HEDIS, CMS, and Joint Commission measures.
- Implement evidence-based order set reviews, medication safety alerts, and protocol-driven documentation.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrate 3+ years clinical informatics experience across EHR implementation, build, optimization, or reporting.
- Demonstrate Epic or Cerner proficiency; active module certification (Ambulatory, Inpatient, ClinDoc, Orders) preferred.
- Build clinical decision support systems including BPA logic, order sets, documentation templates, and alert optimization.
- Query clinical data using SQL, Epic Clarity, Crystal Reports, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Demonstrate clinical workflow knowledge; prior licensure (RN, LPN, PharmD, RT) or patient care experience preferred.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and communicate across clinical and technical teams.
Schedule:
Fully remote within the US. Standard business hours, Monday through Friday.
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is approximately $72,000 – $95,000 annually ($34.62 – $45.67 per hour), based on experience and qualifications.
