Job Description
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio (Onsite)
We are seeking an Insurance Verification Specialist to join a growing healthcare team in Cincinnati. This onsite position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience verifying insurance benefits, managing pre-authorizations, and supporting billing processes in a fast-paced medical setting. The ideal candidate is proactive, accurate, and confident navigating insurance policies and patient benefit systems. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely care delivery and revenue cycle success.
Responsibilities:
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services being rendered
- Document coverage details accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system
- Obtain and track prior authorizations and pre-certifications as required
- Communicate with payers to resolve discrepancies and coverage issues
- Collaborate with patients to confirm insurance details and resolve billing-related concerns
- Support front office and billing teams with real-time insurance updates
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and internal data privacy standards
- Meet productivity, accuracy, and communication benchmarks as assigned
- Participate in team meetings and training for process improvement
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–2 years of insurance verification, billing, or healthcare registration experience
- Proficiency in using EHR and insurance portals (e.g., Availity, Navinet, payer-specific tools)
- Working knowledge of insurance plans, terminology, and benefits coordination
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple verifications daily
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a structured, high-volume medical office environment
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards
Schedule & Work Environment:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday
- Day shift hours (standard business hours)
- On-site role based in Cincinnati, OH

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $37,000 – $45,000 per year ($18.00 – $22.00 per hour), based on experience.
