Location: Tampa, FL (Onsite)
We are seeking an Interim Nurse Manager, Infusion Services to lead an ambulatory infusion center through a leadership transition and keep daily operations running smoothly and safely. This position is a full-time, six month contract engagement based in Tampa, FL. The role oversees staffing, scheduling, patient safety, and quality standards while supporting a seamless transition to the permanent nurse manager.
This role is well aligned for an experienced infusion nurse leader who brings steady, confident leadership to teams during periods of change. The ideal candidate builds trust quickly with nursing staff, keeps patient care consistent and well organized, and prepares a thorough, well documented handoff that sets the incoming permanent leader up for success.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of an ambulatory infusion center, including staffing, scheduling, and patient throughput
- Supervise infusion nurses and support staff and maintain consistent coverage throughout the engagement
- Oversee chair utilization and scheduling to align capacity with referral volume
- Ensure safe medication administration practices, including verification protocols and infusion reaction response
- Maintain competency documentation and required certifications across the nursing team
- Coordinate prior authorization and benefits verification to support timely patient treatment
- Monitor and respond to infusion reactions, adverse events, and safety reports
- Maintain compliance with USP standards, accreditation requirements, and state regulations
- Partner with pharmacy on drug preparation, availability, and waste management
- Respond to patient experience concerns and resolve escalated issues
- Report operational and quality metrics to service line leadership
- Prepare a documented transition plan for the incoming permanent nurse manager
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Active, unrestricted Florida Registered Nurse license required
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of infusion nursing experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
- Prior ambulatory infusion or oncology infusion experience
- Chemotherapy and biotherapy provider certification preferred
- Working knowledge of USP standards, infusion safety practices, and accreditation requirements
- Demonstrated success leading clinical operations through a leadership transition
Schedule:
- Full-time, six month contract engagement with potential for extension
- Onsite in Tampa, FL
- Monday through Friday, standard business hours (Eastern Time)
- 40 hours per week
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is approximately $105,000 – $125,000 annually ($50.48 – $60.10 per hour), based on experience and qualifications.
