Job Description

Location: Austin, TX

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our client’s healthcare team in Austin, TX. This role involves helping patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of therapeutic techniques and a commitment to patient care, promoting independence and quality of life for individuals with physical, developmental, or emotional challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive conditions to develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Conduct assessments to identify goals and progress in occupational therapy.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to help patients improve or regain functional abilities.
  • Teach patients and caregivers how to use adaptive equipment and strategies to enhance independence.
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review patient progress.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational standards for patient documentation.
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans and strategies for improving daily living skills.
  • Advocate for patients to ensure they receive appropriate resources and support.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Active Occupational Therapist license in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational therapy is preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities, is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop personalized and creative treatment plans.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $70,000 – $90,000 a year ($33.00 – $43.00 per hour), based on experience.

  • Final Onsite Interview with the Therapy Manager and Clinical Director.
