Location: Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex (Onsite)
We are seeking a Pharmacist In Charge to lead the launch and daily operations of a new long-term care pharmacy serving skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in the Dallas metro area. This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role where your clinical expertise and regulatory knowledge will directly influence care quality, medication safety, and operational success. The facility is focused on delivering timely, compliant, and patient-centered pharmaceutical services in a collaborative environment. This position is ideal for a licensed pharmacist who thrives in a start-up atmosphere and is ready to take ownership of pharmacy operations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all pharmacy operations in accordance with company policies, Texas State Board of Pharmacy rules, and applicable federal regulations
- Ensure accuracy in prescription filling, labeling, documentation, and storage procedures
- Review prescriptions for dosing, clinical appropriateness, and drug interactions
- Act as primary liaison with facility nursing teams, prescribers, and care coordinators
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and oversee medication packaging and dispensing workflows
- Maintain and monitor controlled substance records and ensure compliance with inventory and security protocols
- Prepare for and respond to regulatory audits and state inspections
- Provide on-call support and clinical decision-making as needed
- Foster a culture of clinical excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement
Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the State of Texas (required)
- 5–10 years of experience in hospital, long-term care, or retail pharmacy settings
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role strongly preferred
- In-depth understanding of long-term care pharmacy regulations and clinical protocols
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and digital documentation systems
- Adaptable to working in a fast-paced, startup-style operation
Schedule & Work Environment:
- On-site role at a newly established long-term care pharmacy in the Dallas area
- Supports multiple skilled nursing and senior living facilities
- Collaborative team environment focused on compliance and clinical outcomes
- Full-time position
- Monday through Friday, day shifts
- Occasional on-call rotation as needed
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $120,000 – $135,000 a year ($58.00 – $65.00 per hour), based on experience.
