Location: Richmond, VA (Onsite)
We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support daily operations within an on-site pharmacy, assisting licensed pharmacy professionals with prescription processing, medication preparation, inventory, and documentation. This position is a full-time, direct hire opportunity based in Richmond, VA.
This role is best aligned for a detail-oriented, dependable technician who works well in a structured environment where accuracy and compliance drive everything. You will process prescriptions, prepare medications for dispensing, keep inventory accurate, and maintain the documentation that keeps the pharmacy audit-ready. The ideal candidate holds accuracy under volume and treats patient confidentiality as non-negotiable.
Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists and pharmacy team members with daily pharmacy operations
- Accurately process prescription information within pharmacy management systems
- Prepare medications for dispensing including counting, labeling, packaging, and organizing orders
- Review prescription information for accuracy, completeness, and required documentation
- Support inventory activities including receiving, stocking, organizing, and routine inventory counts
- Communicate with internal team members regarding inventory needs, order status, and operational questions
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to pharmacy workflows
- Support compliance with medication handling, storage, safety, and quality assurance procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy work environment
- Protect patient confidentiality and follow applicable privacy and pharmacy regulations
- Assist with audits, operational tracking, and additional projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Active Virginia Board of Pharmacy technician registration required
- Certified Pharmacy Technician credential preferred
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred
- Experience in retail, hospital, fulfillment, or specialty pharmacy operations preferred
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, medications, dosage forms, and pharmacy workflows
- Experience with pharmacy management software or prescription processing systems preferred
- Knowledge of pharmacy regulations and patient privacy standards including HIPAA
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment
Schedule:
- Full-time position
- On-site in Richmond, VA
- Monday through Friday, with shifts scheduled within standard pharmacy operating hours
- Standard full-time schedule of 40 hours per week
Salary Range:
The hourly range for this position is $21.00 – $27.00 per hour, approximately $43,680 – $56,160 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
