We are hiring for a Pharmacy Technician, Compounding USP 797 with a high-volume, hospital-based compounding pharmacy located in Chicago, IL. This position is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare sterile compounded preparations including parenterals, IV admixtures, TPN, and hazardous drugs per USP guidelines.
- Execute aseptic technique at LAFW, BSC, and CAI in ISO Class 5 primary engineering controls.
- Perform and document environmental monitoring including viable/non-viable air sampling, surface sampling, and temperature/pressure logging.
- Complete garbing and gowning checks, conduct cleanroom inspections, and enforce contamination prevention procedures.
- Operate and maintain automated compounding devices (ACDs) including gravimetric and volumetric systems with current calibration records.
- Collaborate with pharmacists on end-product verification including visual inspection for particulates, clarity, and container integrity.
- Prepare compounding labels verifying drug name, strength, lot number, BUD, and patient identifiers against master record.
- Maintain accurate compounding logs, batch records, and deviation reports; escalate out-of-specification findings to pharmacist-in-charge.
- Manage inventory of APIs, excipients, packaging, and consumables; place purchase orders and reconcile materials against CoAs.
Qualifications:
- Maintain active CPhT certification (PTCB/NHA) and Illinois pharmacy technician registration.
- Demonstrate 2+ years hands-on sterile compounding experience in hospital or high-complexity pharmacy.
- Apply USP 797 (2023) and USP 800 standards including BUD assignment and engineering controls.
- Operate automated compounding devices (Baxter Exactamix, B. Braun Outlook, ICU Medical Intellifill).
- Navigate pharmacy and compounding systems (Epic Willow, Meditech, Kroll) for verification and documentation.
- Execute environmental monitoring including media fill testing, fingertip sampling, and cleanroom protocols.
Schedule:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday
- On-site in Chicago, IL
- Day and evening shifts available; weekend rotation may apply
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is approximately $42,000 – $58,000 annually ($20.19 – $27.88 per hour), based on experience and qualifications.
