We are currently hiring a Reimbursement Coordinator – Non-Medicare to support a national healthcare organization’s billing and collections operations entirely from home. The ideal candidate combines solid billing knowledge with a proactive, problem-solving attitude. You will own your workload end to end, from claim submission through appeals, while collaborating virtually with teams across clinical, finance and compliance to drive better financial outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve denied or rejected claims
  • Prepare and submit appeals with supporting documentation
  • Maintain clear, audit-ready records of all billing activities
  • Communicate account status and payment expectations to internal teams
  • Partner with clinical teams to obtain necessary medical documentation
  • Support quarterly audits and report on key performance metrics
  • Suggest process improvements to optimize revenue cycle workflows

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; healthcare billing certification a plus
  • Minimum two years of non-Medicare billing or collections experience, ideally in home health or hospice
  • Familiarity with third-party payers, payer portals and electronic claims systems
  • Proficient with billing software and strong Excel skills
  • Accurate, high-volume data entry and typing ability
  • Excellent analytical skills for denial pattern identification and resolution
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with disciplined time and task management in a remote setting
  • Adaptable to evolving regulations and payer requirements

Work Environment:

You’ll join a fully remote billing team working Eastern Standard Time hours. You’ll use billing software, electronic remittance platforms and collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams. Our culture values independence, ongoing learning and regular virtual check-ins.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time
  • Full time, 40 hours per week
  • Occasional off-schedule hours may be needed for end of month closing or urgent appeals

Salary Range: The hourly range for this position is $20.00 –  $24.00 based on experience.

Interview Process:
