Job Description

Location: Phoenix, AZ

We are seeking an experienced RN Risk and Compliance Manager to lead patient safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance initiatives within a healthcare organization based in Phoenix, Arizona. This leadership role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance and risk management programs that promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a licensed Registered Nurse with strong analytical skills, regulatory expertise, and the ability to guide interdisciplinary teams toward best practices in healthcare operations and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the organization’s risk management and compliance functions, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and accreditation standards.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks related to patient safety, clinical operations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead investigations of adverse events, patient complaints, and incident reports, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to develop policies that support safe, ethical, and compliant care delivery.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to internal and external regulatory standards.
  • Prepare and present risk management reports to executive leadership and regulatory bodies as required.
  • Coordinate staff training on patient safety, compliance, and risk reduction strategies.
  • Monitor updates to healthcare laws, CMS regulations, and accreditation requirements (e.g., The Joint Commission) and ensure organizational readiness.
  • Support continuous quality improvement projects and data-driven initiatives that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity in all compliance-related activities.

Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arizona (or compact state eligibility).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, risk management, or patient safety leadership.
  • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations, including CMS, OSHA, HIPAA, and The Joint Commission standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities with experience in staff education and leadership collaboration.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with risk reporting or compliance management software.

Schedule & Work Environment:

  • Full-time position based in Phoenix, Arizona.
  • Standard business hours, Monday through Friday, with occasional flexibility for meetings or audits.
  • Hybrid work environment may be available based on organizational policy.

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $108,000 – $135,000 a year ($52.00 – $65.00 per hour), based on experience.
