Location: El Paso, Texas
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Surgery to oversee the day-to-day operations within our clients Surgery department. Reporting to the Director of Surgical Services, the Assistant Director will play a pivotal role in managing personnel, ensuring efficient procedures, overseeing supply and equipment orders, and maintaining schedules to optimize patient care and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in supervising all personnel within the Surgery department, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Manage the ordering of supplies and equipment necessary for surgical procedures.
- Coordinate and optimize surgical schedules to ensure efficient use of resources and timely patient care.
- Collaborate with the Director of Surgical Services to implement strategic initiatives and quality improvement measures.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and safety protocols.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive environment among surgical staff.
- Monitor departmental budgets and financial performance.
- Participate in hiring, training, and performance evaluations of staff.
- Act as a liaison between surgeons, nursing staff, administrative personnel, and other departments.
Required Qualifications:
- Academic degree in nursing (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree).
- Master’s degree in nursing, health administration, business, public health, or management.
- Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital setting, preferably in a managerial or full-time charge nurse role within Surgery.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Experience with surgical scheduling software or electronic health records (EHR).
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to supervise multiple areas within a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $75,000 – $95,000 a year.
