TalentLNX is supporting a specialty pharmacy in its search for a Pharmacy Benefit Verification Specialist based in Atlanta, Georgia. This full time onsite position is essential to ensuring patients can access the medications they need, especially those receiving treatment for serious or chronic conditions.
The ideal candidate brings pharmacy knowledge, insurance navigation skills, and a patient first mindset. This is a key opportunity for someone who is passionate about improving patient access, solving coverage challenges, and supporting teams in delivering seamless pharmacy services.
Responsibilities:
- Insurance Verification: Conduct comprehensive verification of pharmacy and medical benefits using digital platforms
- Data Management: Enter and update patient insurance details for primary, secondary and tertiary coverage
- Test Claims: Process test claims to confirm benefit eligibility and determine the best reimbursement path
- Prior Authorizations: Coordinate and track prior authorization requests for commercial and government plans
- Financial Assistance Support: Enroll patients in copay assistance and financial aid programs
- Communication: Relay benefit information to pharmacy teams, prescribers and patients with accuracy and professionalism
- Documentation: Maintain thorough and compliant records in pharmacy systems
- Team Collaboration: Work with operations and dispensing teams to ensure prescriptions are processed smoothly
- Compliance: Follow HIPAA guidelines and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; additional pharmacy or healthcare related certification a plus
- Experience: Minimum of one year experience in pharmacy operations, insurance verification or healthcare billing
- Knowledge: Working knowledge of pharmacy benefits, PBM structures and benefit coordination
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with pharmacy software platforms, electronic payer portals and Microsoft Office
- Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational, communication and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred or willingness to obtain
Work Environment:
The Pharmacy Benefit Verification Specialist works onsite in a collaborative specialty pharmacy environment focused on patient access. This team centered setting emphasizes clear communication, continuous learning and shared commitment to delivering high quality care.
Schedule:
- Full time onsite
- Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time
- Weekend rotation may be required based on operational needs
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $41,000 – $52,000 a year ($20.00 – $25.00/hour) based on experience.
