Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery to join a respected hospital team in Boise, Idaho. This role plays an essential part in supporting mothers and families through every phase of childbirth, from admission through recovery, while ensuring the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical skills, empathy, and the ability to remain calm and confident in fast-paced, high-acuity situations.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout the labor, delivery, and postpartum process.
• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being using appropriate assessment techniques and equipment.
• Assist physicians and midwives during labor and delivery procedures.
• Administer medications and IV therapies as prescribed, maintaining accurate documentation of all interventions.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition, exercising sound clinical judgment and escalation protocols.
• Educate patients and families on the childbirth process, pain management options, and postpartum care.
• Maintain strict adherence to hospital policies, infection control standards, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, neonatal nurses, and support staff to ensure coordinated care.
• Support patient privacy and confidentiality in full compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
• Participate in ongoing education and professional development related to obstetric nursing best practices.

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Idaho (or compact state eligibility).
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required; postpartum or mother-baby experience a plus.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to provide compassionate patient-centered care.

Schedule & Work Environment:

• Full-time, onsite position located in Boise, Idaho.
• Rotating 12-hour shifts (day and night availability) including weekends and holidays as required.
• Hospital-based setting focused on family-centered care and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $87,000 – $114,000 a year ($42.00 – $55.00 per hour), based on experience.
