Location: Chicago, IL (On-site)
We are seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive primary care for pediatric patients from newborn through age 18 for an academic medical center. This position is a full-time, direct hire opportunity based onsite in Chicago, IL. The role cares for patients in a busy hospital-based pediatric clinic, managing well-child visits, same day sick visits, and chronic condition follow-up as part of a supportive clinical team.
This role is well aligned for a nurse practitioner who loves working with children and families and is passionate about pediatric primary care. The ideal candidate builds long-term relationships with patients, guides families through every milestone from first immunizations to sports physicals, and practices at the top of their license with confidence and compassion.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive health assessments and developmental screenings for pediatric patients from newborn through age 18
- Diagnose and treat childhood illnesses, injuries, and chronic conditions, including asthma, ADHD, obesity, and allergies
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs, imaging, and point-of-care testing
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Administer immunizations per CDC and AAP recommended schedules and counsel families on vaccine safety
- Provide anticipatory guidance and health education at each developmental stage
- Refer patients to pediatric specialists and coordinate follow-up care as needed
- Document clinical encounters accurately and completely in the electronic health record
- Manage a patient panel that includes same day sick visits, scheduled well-child visits, and chronic disease follow-up
Qualifications:
- Master of Science in Nursing with a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) specialization required
- Active APRN license and national certification (PPCNP-BC or CPNP-PC) required
- DEA registration and Illinois prescriptive authority
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of pediatric clinical experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations will be considered
- Experience with pediatric EHR workflows and growth chart documentation
Schedule:
- Full-time position
- Onsite in Chicago, IL
- Monday through Friday, standard business hours (Central Time)
- 40 hours per week
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is approximately $100,000 – $135,000 annually ($48.08 – $64.90 per hour), based on experience and qualifications.
