Healthcare IT Project Manager

Job Description

Location: Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid)

We are seeking a Healthcare IT Project Manager to lead technology initiatives from requirements gathering through go-live support for an integrated delivery network. This position is a full-time, direct hire opportunity based in the Pittsburgh, PA area on a hybrid schedule.

This role is best aligned for a project management professional with healthcare domain expertise who connects technical teams and clinical stakeholders. You will own the full project lifecycle across EHR implementations, module deployments, and system upgrades, manage vendor performance and cross-functional teams, and lead the change management work that carries a project through go-live. The ideal candidate operates with a high degree of autonomy and delivers technology solutions shaped around how clinicians and patients use them.

Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end project management for healthcare IT initiatives including EHR implementations, module deployments, and system upgrades
• Develop comprehensive project plans covering scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, risk register, and communication planning
• Facilitate project kickoffs, steering committee updates, and regular status reporting for executive and operational stakeholders
• Manage cross-functional project teams including clinical informatics, IT, operations, compliance, and vendor resources
• Coordinate vendor relationships including contract management, deliverable review, and performance accountability
• Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies with proactive mitigation strategies
• Lead change management activities including stakeholder engagement, end-user training coordination, and go-live readiness assessments
• Manage system integration projects including HL7, FHIR, and API-based connections between clinical and administrative systems
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and applicable regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle
• Conduct post-implementation reviews and capture lessons learned to strengthen future project delivery

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required
• Active PMP certification required; CPHIMS or CHCIO highly preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of healthcare IT project management experience delivering EHR and health IT projects required
• Working knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards including HL7, FHIR, and CDA required
• Experience with a major EHR platform such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech required
• Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or Jira
• Experience leading change management and end-user adoption efforts in a clinical environment preferred
• Strong stakeholder communication and executive reporting skills

Schedule:

• Full-time position
• Hybrid schedule with a combination of on-site days in the Pittsburgh, PA area and remote days
• Monday through Friday, standard business hours

Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is approximately $100,000 – $122,000 annually ($48.08 – $58.65 per hour), based on experience and qualifications.
