Job Description

We are seeking a Pharmacy Automation and Central Fill Supervisor to lead daily operations on an automated central fill floor and keep throughput, accuracy, and staffing well balanced. The role oversees production against volume targets, equipment uptime, and a technician team working through shift changes and seasonal volume increases.
This role is well aligned for a pharmacy technician leader with mail order or central fill experience who understands that strong automation performance comes from people and process as much as equipment. The ideal candidate builds solid vendor partnerships, maintains a disciplined preventive maintenance program, and leads a technician team that trusts and respects their leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily central fill production, including staffing assignments, shift coverage, and volume targets
- Oversee uptime and throughput for automated dispensing, counting, and packaging equipment
- Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and vendor service to keep equipment running reliably
- Monitor fill accuracy and lead root cause reviews for dispensing errors and near misses
- Manage workflow queues and adjust staffing in real time as volume shifts during each shift
- Maintain inventory accuracy for high volume products and coordinate replenishment with purchasing
- Train technicians on equipment operation, safety procedures, and standard work
- Ensure compliance with USP and state board requirements for storage, labeling, handling, and documentation
- Track and report daily production metrics, including units per hour, error rate, and order aging
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflow and reduce touches per prescription
- Support the pharmacist verification workflow and escalate clinical questions appropriately
- Participate in board of pharmacy inspections and internal audit readiness activities
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent technical training preferred
- Active Texas pharmacy technician registration required
- PTCB or NHA certification required
- Minimum of 4 years of pharmacy technician experience, including at least 2 years in central fill, mail order, or high volume dispensing
- Prior supervisory or lead experience over a technician team
- Hands-on experience with pharmacy automation and dispensing equipment
- Working knowledge of USP standards and state board of pharmacy operational requirements
- Demonstrated ability to manage production metrics and act on throughput data
- Comfortable working onsite in a fast paced production environment
Schedule:
- Full-time position
- Onsite in Dallas, TX
- Monday through Friday, standard business hours (Central Time)
- 40 hours per week
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is approximately $65,000 – $80,000 annually ($31.25 – $38.46 per hour), based on experience and qualifications.
