Location: Sugar Land, TX
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Oncology Services to join a collaborative healthcare team supporting patients across a comprehensive cancer care setting. This role focuses on delivering advanced clinical pharmacy services, optimizing oncology treatment plans, and supporting safe, evidence-based medication use across the continuum of care.
The ideal candidate brings strong clinical judgment, hands-on oncology experience, and a patient-centered approach to pharmaceutical care within a multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced clinical pharmacy support for patients receiving oncology and hematology therapies.
- Review and manage chemotherapy and supportive care regimens to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based treatment.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication therapy and treatment outcomes.
- Participate in clinical rounds, case reviews, and multidisciplinary discussions.
- Support protocol development, medication-use evaluations, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Educate patients and caregivers on oral oncology therapies, medication adherence, and side-effect management.
- Assist with formulary management and contribute to pharmacy-driven clinical initiatives.
- Precept pharmacy residents and students as part of clinical education and professional development efforts.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory, safety, and institutional standards related to medication handling and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution.
- Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of Texas or eligibility to obtain.
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency required; PGY2 Oncology residency strongly preferred.
- Minimum of three years of clinical pharmacy experience in oncology or acute care settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in oncology pharmacotherapy, chemotherapy protocols, and supportive care practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary care teams.
Schedule & Work Environment:
- Full-time, on-site position.
- Standard weekday schedule with rotating on-call coverage.
- Hospital-based clinical environment supporting comprehensive cancer care.
Salary Range: The salary Range for this position is $100,000 – $130,000 annually (approximately $48.00 – $62.50 per hour), based on experience.
Interview Process:
