Location: West Virginia (Regional, Multi-State Patient Base)
Retention Bonus: $75,000 –$160,000 based on 1–3 year commitment
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Emergency Medicine Physician to join a well-supported, community-based emergency department in a regional hospital system. This opportunity offers the ability to practice in a patient-focused environment with collaborative clinical teams, competitive compensation, and a flexible schedule in a moderate-volume emergency department.
The hospital serves a diverse patient population across multiple bordering states and values high-quality care, clinical leadership, and team-based medicine.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive emergency care including assessment, triage, treatment, and disposition
- Work collaboratively with advanced practice clinicians, nursing staff, and ancillary departments
- Deliver timely care for a variety of acute presentations in a well-structured ED setting
- Participate in performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records using the facility’s electronic charting system
- Communicate effectively with inpatient services, consulting providers, and outside facilities
Qualifications:
- MD or DO from an accredited medical institution
- Completion of an Emergency Medicine residency (ACGME- or AOA-accredited)
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
- FM or IM-trained physicians with substantial emergency department experience may be considered
- Eligible for licensure in West Virginia
- Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) eligibility preferred
Current or eligible certifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Comfortable managing varied acuity in a community-based hospital setting
- Strong communication, leadership, and team collaboration abilities
Work Environment:
Onsite in a well supported emergency department that values collaboration, professional development and community engagement. The team includes physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses and support staff dedicated to delivering exceptional emergency care in a tight knit clinical community.
Schedule:
- Full-Time | 12-Hour Shifts | Days, Nights, Weekends, and Holidays as Scheduled
Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: $215/hr (standard shifts) to $240/hr (night and high-need shifts)
- Retention Bonus: Tiered structure ranging from $100,000 to $160,000 based on 1-, 2-, or 3-year full-time commitment
- Employment Type: W2 employee with full benefits eligibility
