Job Description

Location: Wilmington, DE

We are seeking an experienced Oncology Clinical Pharmacist to join a multidisciplinary oncology care team providing high-quality pharmaceutical services to patients across the Wilmington area. This position plays a critical role in optimizing medication therapy for oncology patients through clinical expertise, collaborative care, and evidence-based practice. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in oncology pharmacotherapy, a commitment to patient-centered care, and the ability to work effectively in a clinical team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, verify, and prepare chemotherapy and supportive care orders in accordance with institutional protocols and safety standards.
  • Provide clinical pharmacy consultation to physicians, nurses, and patients regarding oncology medications, dosing, and adverse effect management.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient therapy to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes and minimize toxicity.
  • Collaborate with oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, patient case discussions, and clinical rounds.
  • Ensure compliance with all USP, ASHP, and state pharmacy regulations governing sterile compounding and hazardous drug handling.
  • Educate patients on oral chemotherapy regimens, medication adherence, and potential side effects.
  • Contribute to formulary management, clinical protocol development, and oncology program quality initiatives.
  • Support investigational drug studies and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Stay current with oncology treatment guidelines, emerging therapies, and pharmacogenomic data.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacist License in the state of Delaware.
  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency required; PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency preferred.
  • Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) strongly preferred or eligibility within one year of hire.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a hospital or clinical oncology pharmacy setting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of chemotherapy protocols, oncology drug regimens, and supportive care standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proficiency with oncology EHR and pharmacy information systems.

Schedule & Work Environment:

  • Full-time, onsite position based in Wilmington, Delaware.
  • Monday through Friday schedule with occasional weekend or on-call rotation as required.
  • Hospital or cancer center setting with a focus on collaborative, patient-centered care.

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $135,000 – $166,000 a year ($65.00 – $80.00 per hour), based on experience.

Interview Process:
