Job Description

Location: Madison, WI (Onsite)

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Retail Pharmacist to join a reputable pharmacy team serving the Madison community. This position plays an essential role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications while providing exceptional patient education and pharmaceutical care. The ideal candidate combines clinical expertise with strong communication and leadership skills to support both patient outcomes and pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately dispense prescription medications in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, and professional standards.
  • Review, verify, and interpret prescriptions to ensure appropriate dosage, therapy, and potential interactions.
  • Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and adherence to prescribed therapy.
  • Maintain patient medication profiles and records in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
  • Oversee pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure efficient daily workflow and accuracy in fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with prescribers and healthcare professionals to resolve medication-related issues or clarify prescriptions.
  • Manage inventory levels, verify incoming shipments, and monitor medication storage for compliance with safety standards.
  • Stay informed on new medications, therapeutic guidelines, and pharmacy law updates.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives, safety checks, and ongoing staff training.
  • Promote a positive, patient-centered experience and support the organization’s community health mission.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacist License in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of retail or community pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and dosage requirements.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lead, train, and supervise pharmacy support staff effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy management software and electronic prescription systems.

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $120,000 – $145,000 a year ($58.00 – $70.00 per hour), based on experience.

Interview Process:

Selected candidates will participate in a multi-step interview process, which will include a screening call with TalentLNX followed by virtual and onsite interviews with the pharmacy management team.
