Location: Savannah, GA (Greater Metro Area)
We are seeking an Ambulatory Care Nursing Supervisor to lead clinical nursing operations across outpatient clinic locations. This hands-on leadership role oversees nursing staff, clinical workflows, and patient care delivery while ensuring compliance with clinical standards and a consistently positive patient experience at every visit.
The right candidate for this role is a nurse leader who has not forgotten what it is like to work the floor. You will split your time between managing your team, optimizing clinical workflows, and stepping in when the clinics need you. This is a leadership role that requires presence, clinical credibility, and the ability to develop people while keeping operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor a team of RNs, LPNs, and medical assistants across multiple ambulatory clinic sites
- Oversee daily clinical operations including patient flow, triage protocols, medication administration, and clinical documentation
- Develop and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and competency standards for nursing staff
- Manage staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development planning
- Collaborate with physicians and practice managers on quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives
- Monitor clinical compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and state nursing practice act requirements
- Serve as a clinical resource for complex patient situations and escalated care concerns
- Participate in practice transformation efforts including PCMH recognition and value-based care readiness
- Conduct clinical competency assessments and skills validation for nursing and clinical support staff
- Manage vaccine inventory, cold chain compliance, and immunization program administration
- Coordinate with HR on recruitment, onboarding, and credentialing of new clinical staff
- Investigate patient complaints and clinical incidents, implementing corrective actions as needed
- Track clinical quality metrics including HEDIS measures, preventive care gaps, and chronic disease management compliance
- Support EHR optimization efforts specific to ambulatory nursing workflows and clinical documentation templates
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required; BSN preferred
- Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience with at least 2 years in ambulatory or outpatient settings
- Prior supervisory or charge nurse experience required
- Knowledge of ambulatory care workflows, HEDIS quality measures, and chronic disease management protocols
- Experience with ambulatory EHR platforms (Epic Ambulatory, athenahealth, or similar)
- Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and team development skills
- Excellent communication skills for physician collaboration and patient interactions
- BLS certification required; additional clinical certifications preferred
Schedule:
- Full-time position
- Standard business hours
- Standard full-time hours per pay period
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is approximately $72,000 – $88,000 annually ($34.62 – $42.31 per hour), based on experience and qualifications. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.
